My Story

Being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis led me to become a personal trainer. In 2010 at the age of 26, I was hospitalized, unable to see straight, walk straight or feel my legs. I was also 100lbs overweight. At that time, I was mis-diagnosed and without medication or a treatment for my MS, recovered. I regained the feeling in my legs after 8 long months, lost weight, regained my balance and vision. Not only did I recover, but I eventually continued on to competitively body build.

How did I do it? I decided to take control of my health. I started reading everything I could about nutrition and exercise. I taught myself everything I could to heal my body from the inside out, naturally, through diet. I learned to move my body effectively and properly build muscle. Finally, after officially receiving my diagnoses in 2015, I knew what I owed to exercise and nutrition, so decided to pursue my new found passion for health and fitness. I wanted to show others the secret to changing their lives like I had changed mine. I started working for one of the top 20 gyms in Canada at the time and never looked back. I'd been given an opportunity to do what I love and help inspire people to live healthier lives by showing them what is possible.

My journey into health and fitness has not only lead me to a career Personal Training, but has also sparked a passion for Bodybuilding. In 2019, I successfully competed in Women's Figure at the Nova Scotia Physique Championships to help raise awareness about Multiple Sclerosis. I was rewarded with 1st place in Figure Novice, 2nd place in Masters Figure Tall and got to walk away having had one of the best experiences I could have asked for. I got to live out what was a childhood dream and showed people the difference between disability and inability. Now, I use what I have learned through my unique journey to help others navigate their way to a happier healthier life.
